CMBC Member Spotlight is pleased to honor Deneen Lester!
Deneen united with CMBC in 2001. She has been a faithful member of the Music Ministry since joining CMBC and currently serves as the Ministry Leader for the Higher Calling Human Resources Ministry. She has worked with the Emblems of Destiny Ministry and was commissioned as a Stephen Minister in 2oo7.
Deneen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Memphis and a Master’s Degree (M.Ed) in Education with a concentration in Leadership from the University of Memphis. She has worked for the City of Memphis for 17 years and is currently the Manger of Selection and Recruitment in Human Resources for the City of Memphis.
Deneen was the first African American Female to serve as president of the Memphis Chapter of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) in 2010. She led the Human Resources Ministry in starting the CMBC Career Center and hosting the CMBC Job Fair in 2011 with 30 employers present. She assisted Pastor Stewart in creating and developing the Ekklesia Teen Empowerment Summer Intern Program and has graduated 9 classes since its inception. Pastor Stewart states that Deneen is a “model member and faithful disciple”. She is a woman of great character and a hearer and doer of the Word. She has used her influence and power to help many people. Deneen is smart, efficient, reliable and consistently faithful. She is a gift to CMBC!
Deneen says that Pastor Stewart is the "Pastor of Pastors and is the Christian all people should be. She says that "Pastor Stewart never ceases to amaze her with her teaching, preaching and creativity in sermon preparation”
Deneen is married to Pastor Chuck Lester. Chuck says that Deneen is "loving, caring and always a lady. He thanks God for his wife and partner in life and says Deneen is the answer to a prayer
